About the Beck Institute

Dr. Aaron Beck and his daughter, Dr. Judith Beck established the non-profit Beck Institute in 1994 with three missions: To provide state of the art psychotherapy, to collaborate in research studies, and to train mental health professionals in Cognitive Therapy.  For more information, please see the Beck Institute website: www.beckinstitute.org.

In the 1960s, Dr. Aaron T. Beck developed "Cognitive Therapy,” a system of psychotherapy also referred to as "Cognitive Behavior Therapy" or "CBT". Cognitive Therapy has been extensively tested in over 400 clinical trials and found to be effective for a wide variety of disorders including depression, anxiety, panic, eating disorders, substance abuse, and personality disorders.
